Guest posting guide

How to get your guest post accepted

  1. 1Pick sites your readers already visit

Filter by niche first, then DR. High DR with no audience is a warning sign, so we dropped sites with almost no organic traffic: under 100 estimated visits a month, under 300 at DR 30+ and under 1,000 at DR 50+.

  2. 2Read the guidelines, then follow them exactly

Word count, link limits and pitch format are on the page. 52 of the sites here state a minimum, with a median of 1,000 words. Editors use these rules as a quick filter.

  3. 3Check what they have already published

Search the site for your topic before you pitch. Offer an angle they have not covered and say so in one line.

  4. 4Pitch one idea, in under 150 words

Only 8.5% of 12 million outreach emails got a reply in Backlinko's study, and personalized messages got 32.7% more. Name the site and the idea, and link one sample.

  5. 5Follow up once, a week later

One follow-up lifted replies by 65.8% in the same study. Then move on to the next site.

  6. 6Earn the link, do not lead with it

Write for the reader first. Link to a source that helps, use plain anchor text and never offer money for a link in a free guest post.

What Google says about guest post links

Google does not ban guest posts. Its target is links made to manipulate rankings. Google's spam policy lists this as an example of link spam:

Advertorials or native advertising where payment is received for articles that include links that pass ranking credit, or links with optimized anchor text in articles, guest posts, or press releases distributed on other sites.

The same policy explains when paid links are fine:

Google does understand that buying and selling links is a normal part of the economy of the web for advertising and sponsorship purposes. It's not a violation of our policies to have such links as long as they are qualified with a rel="nofollow" or rel="sponsored" attribute value to the <a> tag.

In plain terms: if money, goods or services changed hands for a link, Google wants it marked rel="sponsored" or rel="nofollow". Google's guide to qualifying outbound links explains each value. In this database, 1 sites charge a fee and 4 offer a paid route. Those show a note in the table so you can spot them.

Quoted from Google Search Central, page last updated August 28, 2026, checked October 31, 2026. Paid guest posts also have a market price: BuzzStream reports an average of $295 bought direct and $461 through a vendor (study, updated June 15, 2026).

How we checked this (October 31, 2026)

  • We ran 128 Google searches across 16 niches, such as "write for us" technology and health "guest post guidelines", and collected 1,831 domains.
  • We looked up Domain Rating for each one. 1,366 reached DR 20 or higher. DR comes from a third-party SEO API that reports an Ahrefs-style 0 to 100 score. Traffic is DataForSEO's worldwide organic estimate. Both are estimates for the whole domain, so a large publisher's section can look bigger than it is.
  • On October 31, 2026 a crawler loaded each site and its guidelines page. 674 had no open page inviting outside writers: no such page, submissions closed, members only, academic journals or link lists. 197 failed quality checks: parked or expired domains, gambling, adult or hacked content, link sellers, link farms and sites with almost no traffic. 196 blocked our crawler or would not load, so we left them out rather than guess.
  • An AI model read each page and pulled out the rules, and a script kept a rule only when its source sentence appears word for word on the page. We then opened 40 sites at random in a browser, removed the 5 that did not hold up and tightened the checks. A note means the page says it, not that we tested it by submitting. 278 sites remain.

We are not affiliated with these sites and being listed is not an endorsement. Sites change their rules, so read the guidelines before you pitch. Download everything as a free CSV, no email needed. Looking for something else? Try our directory list, how to build backlinks or what backlinks are.

FAQ

Write for us technology: questions

Short answers, using the numbers from this list.

What is a guest post site?
A guest post site is a website that publishes articles written by outside authors, usually with a byline and a link back to the author. Most list their rules on a "write for us" or contributor page.
How many technology guest post sites are on this list?
68, all at DR 20 or higher and all checked live on October 31, 2026. The median Domain Rating is 58. We did not pad the list, so sites that failed a check are not here.
Are these guest post sites free?
Most do not ask for money. On this list, 1 charge a fee, 4 offer a paid route beside a free one and 3 pay their contributors. The list itself is free, and the CSV needs no email.
How do I contact these sites?
41 of 68 publish an email on the guidelines page, and 12 use a form. Use the Has email filter, or press Pitch on a row to load the site into the pitch builder.
How long should a guest post be?
Follow the site's rule. Across the 52 sites here that state a minimum, the median is 1,000 words.
Is guest posting against Google’s rules?
Not by itself. Google’s spam policy targets links exchanged for money, goods or services that pass ranking credit, and links with optimized anchor text in guest posts distributed on other sites. Paid links should use rel="sponsored" or rel="nofollow".
Do guest posts give dofollow links?
Only some say so. On this list, 11 sites state dofollow, 2 state nofollow and 1 mark links as sponsored. 52 do not state a rule we could verify, so ask before you write.
Should I use a guest posting service instead?
It depends on your time and budget. Doing it yourself is free but slow: cold outreach gets a reply about 8.5% of the time. Services charge per placement, and BuzzStream reports an average of $461 per guest post through a vendor. We make Outrank, whose marketplace places links for credits; those are paid links, so read Google's policy above first.
How often is this list updated?
Every site shows its last checked date, currently October 31, 2026. We rerun the same script to refresh it, which removes sites that stop passing.
