Here's something worth trying in the next two minutes.
Open ChatGPT and ask it: "What are the best tools in [your category]?"
It gives you a list. Your competitors are probably on it. You might not be.
Now ask it one more thing: "What sources did you use?"
If it searched the web, it will show you the pages it pulled the answer from. Usually just 4 to 6 links. A listicle from last year. A comparison post on some blog you've never heard of.
When ChatGPT recommends tools, it's mostly reading from a small handful of pages like these. If your product isn't on them, the AI can't recommend you, no matter how good you are.
Most founders react to this by writing a pile of their own content and hoping the model notices them one day. That takes forever.
There's a faster way: get onto the pages ChatGPT is already reading.
Look at those 4 to 6 links. Email the person who wrote each one. Offer them a free account, a fact their article is missing, or a fresh screenshot for a section that's gone stale.
Most of these posts haven't been touched in a year, and the writer is usually happy to have a reason to update.
And that's exactly what Outrank does for you already. It builds relevant, contextual backlinks that put your product on the pages ChatGPT reads, so the model keeps learning about you and recommending you.
