Before ChatGPT or Perplexity answers a question about your brand, it doesn't load your website the way you see it. It strips all of the design & images and reads the bare text underneath.
If your answer isn't in that text, the AI doesn't see it.
We ran Linear's homepage - one of the best-designed sites on the internet - through the tool.

Most of Linear's gorgeous UI screenshots are worth nothing for AI agents.
This is what what happens to almost every well-designed page.
You can see your own stripped-down version in about thirty seconds, free, no signup. Drop any URL into our converter:

It shows you the clean text an AI would read.
Now look at it and ask one question: in does it plainly say what you do, who it's for, and what it costs? Usually it doesn't.
A human fills that gap from the logo, the screenshots.
An AI can't see any of it. It reads the words - and if your words don't say what you do, it guesses. Or it grabs the answer off a competitor's page that spelled it out.
The fix is boring and it works: put your positioning, pricing, use cases, and comparisons into actual words on the page - not trapped in images, tabs, or animations. Write for the human and the AIs, both.
P.S. Rewriting every page in plain, AI-readable words is the slow part. That's what we built Outrank for - answer-shaped blog posts, straight to your CMS.
